Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond
Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond offers personalized home care service dedicated to supporting and educating high risk pregnant women, especially those on prescribed bed rest.
Darline Turner is the founder of Mamas On Bedrest & Beyond. She brings over 20 years of experience as a physician assistant, ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist®, perinatal fitness instructor and educator to the business. Additionally, she brings the unique perspective as both a clinician and a high risk, older mom (who gave birth at 37 and 40 respectively) to meet the unique physical and emotional needs of high risk pregnant women.
Darline can truly relate to the emotional experience of high risk pregnant women. She was pregnant every year between 2001 and 2006 with the exception of 2003, during which time she had 4 conceptions, 2 miscarriages, 2 high risk pregnancies and 2 cesarean births.
Darline’s vision for Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond is to change the way high risk pregnant women are cared for. She feels a strong obligation to bring the best in health care to women, while making care easy to access and easy to follow, all the while improving birth outcomes, especially for black women and infants who are at 2-4 times increased risk of perinatal mortality. Her heart is for the most vulnerable in our communities-mamas and babies-and her goal is for every mama who so desires, to have a healthy, full term baby.
Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond offers community outreach and case management, community education, educational programming and development to women in their homes, in their communities and to the Greater Austin community at large. If you are not in the immediate Austin area, Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond does offer virtual programs via Skype, Facetime and online webinar formats.
