Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond

Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond offers personalized home care service dedicated to supporting and educating high risk pregnant women, especially those on prescribed bed rest.

Hi, I’m Darline Turner, owner and founder of Mamas On Bedrest & Beyond. As your doula, I bring over 25 years of women’s health experience to serve you. I was trained as a physician assistant at Duke University and earned a Master of Health Science Degree. I am also a certified perinatal fitness instructor, childbirth educator and peer lactation educator. I was a high risk mom myself and gave birth to my teens at 37 and 40 respectively.

I know what you are going through. I was pregnant every year between 2001 and 2006 with the exception of 2003, and had 4 conceptions, 2 miscarriages, 2 high risk pregnancies and 2 cesarean births.

My vision for Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond is to change the way high risk pregnant women are cared for. I feels strong obligation to bring the best in health care to women, while making care easy to access and easy to follow, all the while improving birth outcomes, especially for black women and infants who are at 2-4 times increased risk of perinatal mortality. My heart is for the most vulnerable in our communities-mamas and babies-and My goal is for every mama who so desires, to have a healthy, full term baby.

Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond offers community outreach and case management, community education, educational programming and development to women in their homes, in their communities and to the Greater Austin community at large. If you are not in the immediate Austin area, Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond does offer virtual programs via Facetime and online webinar formats.
