Mamas on Bedrest Pregnancy Services

Mamas on Bedrest and Beyond is proud to announce it’s line of services, including the Mamas on Bedrest AntePartum Doula Training Program! All of our services are now being offered by certified doulas, childbirth educators and lactation educators! Currently we are the only organization with trained doulas to offer antepartum (prenatal) high risk pregnancy support in the Greater Austin area! We are happy to serve our local Greater Austin mamas and are available for consultations for non-local mamas.

What is a doula?

A Doula is a woman who is trained to assist another woman during childbirth and who may provide support to the family (before and) after the baby is born. All of the doulas providing services at Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond undergo rigorous training and certification before being allowed to serve you. They all maintain their own doula certifications, CPR certifications, auto insurance and liability insurance.

Doula  Services

Mamas on Bedrest Ante partum (Prenatal) Doula Support – This is our signature service! For mamas who have been prescribed bed rest or put on activity restriction, Mamas on Bedrest’s Ante partum Doulas will make sure that your home runs smoothly so that you can get the rest that you need. Starting as early as 22 weeks and visiting weekly until delivery, during our 90 minute visits our antepartum doulas will ensure that you are resting comfortably, that you have adequate support for your neck, hips and back, are not incurring any bed sores and will provide suggestions and comfort measures for you. They will answer questions regarding your prenatal course, birth options and choices and educate you on what you can expect during labor and delivery and post partum. When your doula’s not there, she’s never more than an e-mail away! Doulas answer e-mails regularly during normal business hours (10am – 6 pm) and within 24 hours after hours. Antepartum doulas support mama and her family as they prepare for their new addition, and will arrange meals if necessary, perform light housekeeping and run errands as needed. Mamas on Bedrest’s Doulas are not nannies and they do not provide childcare (in the absence of parents)!
